Friday Sept. 25, 2009 ~ Parent's Night, Paxton, NE
Friday nights mean football for us! Tonight is Parent's
night which is always fun. The sun was just going down
and the sky was a brilliant pink, purple and yellow. It
was amazing.
We stop for a picture before our turn to walk out on the
field. Tyler is a student manager so got to walk with us
too which was nice. Garrett has his 'game face' on! Thanks
for the rose Garrett!
Football Moms, Dads and players. We are standing in about
the middle of this picture.
The Tigers run through the lines of very excited fans!!
GO TIGERS!!! And #12!!
This scoreboard is no illusion! The Tigers are on fire tonight!
With 24 points on the board in the first quarter!!! The fans
are going crazy! There's a large crowd tonight with parents
night and also "white out" ( where everyone wears white),
there's lots of students and the band is all adding to the
fun and exciting atmosphere!!
Garrett (with ball) played some quarterback, corner
back and kick off during the game.
PAXTON TIGERS VS. POTTER-DIX COYOTES
Garrett had an awesome game! The whole
team was really pumped up and playing
the best they have.
This is the 'aftermath' of a hit Garrett made! They hit so
hard the crowd went "OOOOOOOO!" at the sound of it!!
The hit sent both Garrett and the opponent flying in
opposite directions!! I'm sure #5 was seeing stars as he
layed on the ground for awhile! Garrett had a lot of hard
hits all night. Garrett said that later the refs said they
hadn't officiated a game with as much hard hitting as this
one and they normally ref Class A schools!
With it being Parents Night, the Moms got to wear their
Sons' other jerseys which was fun. At half time some of us
posed for our own 'team' picture. We had a lot of fun doing
this and probably would've embarrased our kids if they'd
been out there to see us! :)
Garrett and Tyler talk some game. Next
year they will play on the same team and
both are excited for that.
Paxton kept the lead throughout the entire game!! Final
score was an unbelievable 66-42!!! The fans hit the field
and engulfed the team. The atmosphere was electric!
This is the first game in 4 years that Paxton has won! It's
been a long time coming that's for sure! The boys' work
hard each and every game and they were due for a "W"!
Way to go TIGERS!!!
We were so proud of Garrett, and of course thankful he
didn't get hurt! Grandma Grace and Grandma Cena came
to watch him play too and agreed it was the most exciting
game! The win was just what the boys' needed and we
hope they carry the momentum with them through the
rest of the season now that they know they can do it!
