Jr high Football

Monday Sept. 28, 2009 ~ It turned out to be a warm,
sunny day for Tyler's junior high football game in Paxton
against the Wallace Wildcats. Tyler, with ball, played
running back on offense and linebacker on defense.

Tyler had the ball a lot but didn't get to score any points.

Tyler is very good at juking and spinning to get away from
the defenders!

The Tigers are now 2-0!! Two more games to go. They're
on their way to the 3rd winning season in a row!

~ Our Football Family~ Garrett had a junior varsity game
right after Tyler's game. He played quarterback the first
two quarters then the coach took him out to 'save' him
for the upcoming Varsity game this Friday. I didn't get
many pictures of him but the JV team went on to win their
first JV game, winning 48-8!! Grandmas' Grace and Cena
made it to the game today too.

Parents Night

Friday Sept. 25, 2009 ~ Parent's Night, Paxton, NE
Friday nights mean football for us! Tonight is Parent's
night which is always fun. The sun was just going down
and the sky was a brilliant pink, purple and yellow. It
was amazing.

We stop for a picture before our turn to walk out on the
field. Tyler is a student manager so got to walk with us
too which was nice. Garrett has his 'game face' on! Thanks
for the rose Garrett!

Football Moms, Dads and players. We are standing in about
the middle of this picture.

The Tigers run through the lines of very excited fans!!
GO TIGERS!!! And #12!!

This scoreboard is no illusion! The Tigers are on fire tonight!
With 24 points on the board in the first quarter!!! The fans
are going crazy! There's a large crowd tonight with parents
night and also "white out" ( where everyone wears white),
there's lots of students and the band is all adding to the
fun and exciting atmosphere!!

Garrett (with ball) played some quarterback, corner
back and kick off during the game.

PAXTON TIGERS VS. POTTER-DIX COYOTES
Garrett had an awesome game! The whole
team was really pumped up and playing
the best they have.
This is the 'aftermath' of a hit Garrett made! They hit so
hard the crowd went "OOOOOOOO!" at the sound of it!!
The hit sent both Garrett and the opponent flying in
opposite directions!! I'm sure #5 was seeing stars as he
layed on the ground for awhile! Garrett had a lot of hard
hits all night. Garrett said that later the refs said they
hadn't officiated a game with as much hard hitting as this
one and they normally ref Class A schools!
With it being Parents Night, the Moms got to wear their
Sons' other jerseys which was fun. At half time some of us
posed for our own 'team' picture. We had a lot of fun doing
this and probably would've embarrased our kids if they'd
been out there to see us! :)
Garrett and Tyler talk some game. Next
year they will play on the same team and
both are excited for that.
Paxton kept the lead throughout the entire game!! Final
score was an unbelievable 66-42!!! The fans hit the field
and engulfed the team. The atmosphere was electric!
This is the first game in 4 years that Paxton has won! It's
been a long time coming that's for sure! The boys' work
hard each and every game and they were due for a "W"!
Way to go TIGERS!!!
We were so proud of Garrett, and of course thankful he
didn't get hurt! Grandma Grace and Grandma Cena came
to watch him play too and agreed it was the most exciting
game! The win was just what the boys' needed and we
hope they carry the momentum with them through the
rest of the season now that they know they can do it!

A Day of Family Pics

Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009~ Lake Mac
This morning the boys' reluctantly
humored me by getting dressed for
pictures! We headed to the lake and
I think they complained the whole
way there!! Garrett's girlfriend, Erica
rode with us and graciously took some
family pictures for us too. The boys'
wouldn't hardly stay in each spot long
enough for me to take a couple shots
so I had to be quick! We did get some
good ones tho so I'm happy with them
and they were glad for it to be over!
Boys!!

Garrett~age 15, Tyler~age 13, Cade~age 10

~Our Family~

What handsome boys'! We're so proud
of each of them, even tho they wouldn't
cooperate today!

After our picture taking (took a whole 30 minutes!!), we
went into Ogallala and met my Mom, Dad and Dorothy
for lunch. We also stopped at Dad's to dig up some ever
green trees (20!) then headed home to re-plant them. We
had a nice Sunday.

Garrett's First Varsity Game of the Season

Sept. 18, 2009 ~ After suffering another concussion early
in the season Garrett was unable to play the first two
games so needless to say he was ready to suit up and get
on the field for Paxton's first home game! He was on the
starting defense and was also starting quarterback, a
position he's worked very hard for! He had some great passes!

Paxton Tigers VS. Hyannis Longhorns

Bernie and I love going to the boys' football
games!! We can't sit down, we're the parents
who walk and cheer from the sidelines! :)
Grace, my mom and dad, Dave & Lisa and
Brooke and Mason also came to cheer Garrett on.

Garrett did a great job for his first time
at starting quarterback! He also scored
a 2pt. conversion.

Another tough loss for the Tigers. At one point in the game
it was 20-24 and really exciting! The second half they just
couldn't keep Hyannis from the endzone. We were just
thankful Garrett didn't get hurt and we're looking forward
to more great games!

More Junior High Football Pics

Here's some more pictures from Tyler's first jr. high game
of the season. He plays both offense and defense. Here's
a great shot of him wrapping up a Brady Eagle!!

Here's one of Tyler's many touchdowns!! Go Tyler!

What a great score....38-0!!

Tyler lives for football!!! He is an awesome
player and very exciting to watch!!

Bernie, Tyler and I after his game. We are really proud
of him! He's a great player, leader, teammate and shows
great sportsmanship. We're off to a great season!!

A Day at the Game

Monday Sept. 14, 2009 ~ It's a great day for a football game!
Today is Tyler's first junior high game of the season, a home
game. He had quite a fan club section! Pa Bud, Gma Cena,
Gma Grace, Aunt Jenny, Cade, Uncle Dave & Aunt Lisa all
came to cheer him on!

Tyler #29, plays running back, end, line backer, punter,
starting kick off and punt return. He stayed on the field
for offensive and defense!

Paxton Tigers VS. Brady Eagles

Tyler was on fire!! He scored 4 touchdowns, a 2 pt.
conversion and had an interception!!!! His team won the ball
game, 38-0!!
I got lots of great shots of Tyler, however, during ball season I
borrow my friend Dana's "good camera" with the telephoto
lense ( thanks Dana!! ) so I took a few pics on my camera
so I could load them onto the blog for you to see. It was a fun
game to watch and we did lots of cheering for Tyler!!
Garrett hopes to play in their first high school home game this
Friday. He has missed his last 2 games due to a concussion, his
3rd one in a year so the Dr. is taking his time bringing Garrett
back. He started back to practice last week and is ready to
play. He's excited about being the quarter back and after 2 losses
on the books, he's ready to get in there and help his team out.

More pics

Me, Monica and Lisa.....waiting on the guys to get Larry
running again.

Marlow, Monica, Justin and Shelby joined us later.

It didn't take long until Marlow was stuck!

More 4-Wheelin' pics

Well, Larry won the award this year!! This water hole was
a little deeper than it looked! Yea, um, you just keep tellin'
yourself that Larry!

It took lots of horsepower to get Larry out of this one!

Well............good news, Larry won't have to clean his vehicle
out when he gets home!!

It took the guys' over an hour to get Larry pulled out
and things taken apart and to get him runnin' again!

We stopped mid-day ( before Larry's water hole incident )
at Roger and Kathy's campsite to grill hotdogs. Bernie was in
charge!

As always, we had lots of food! We enjoyed visiting and the
kids have fun at the playground. Even I went down the
tornado slide and Lisa and I had a contest to see who could
swing higher, until we both felt like throwing up!!!

We had quite a caravan going!

Lisa, Mason, Dave and Brooke. Come on Lisa,
give us a smile!!

We all tackled the beast! We all made it down this steep
water hole, hard to tell in picture. Was fun tho!
