HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Thursday November 26, 2009 ~ Happy Turkey Day!!
Bernie and the boys' and I met Mom and Dad at Teresa's
house for Thanksgiving dinner today. The house smelled
so good when we walked in! Mom had the turkey and ham
done and taters going and started the dressing and gravy.

Mom and I preparing the 'feast'!

Wade stopped by for awhile. The boys' enjoy the munchies.

I wish my blog had 'smell-0-vision'! Yum!

Time to dig in!!

Garrett shouldn't have gone first! Now there's
no more food! ~ Just kidding! We had enough
food for 10 more people! And yes, he had seconds!

Bernie and Dad get in line.

Sitting down to family and good food.......thats being thankful.

Bernie and the boys' work on T's christmas lights, again.
Sorry T, were still short!!

In the afternoon, Tanner showed up for some 'grub' and Jen
came in for dessert and skipbo!! ( I won both games!) :)

~ Our Family ~ My blessings, my reasons
to be so, so thankful!!!

The boys' with Pa Bud and Grandma Cena.

~ We had a very enjoyable day. There weren't many of us,
everyone was spread out across the country but all were
in our thoughts. We count you all among our many blessings
and wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Mom's Birthday

~ Sunday November 22nd, 2009 ~
Happy Birthday Mom!!

Today we went to Ogallala to help Mom celebrate
her birthday. We met Mom and Becky for lunch
then went up to Teresa's to play skipbo and open
gifts.

The guys' also put up T's Christmas lights while we were
there. They did the lights around the roof-line while I did
the lights around the garage and deck....turned out to be a
BIG project!! But hopefully it will look nice at night. There
were a few of her neighbor's putting up their lights too.

It took a bit to get started and the wind was cold but atleast
the sun was shining!

Tyler and Bernie working around the roof.

After all the hard work we hit the bowling alley!! Mom
joined us to watch and cheer us on. We were the only ones
in there so we had two lanes going which worked out really
well. Bernie and I bowled 3 games while the boys' bowled 2.
We had a lot of fun!

My high game was a 139! We won't say what my LOW
game was!

Caught Bernie in this picture in an awkward position, sorry
honey. He really does have good form. His high game was
a 175! Bernie makes the rest of us look really bad! :)

Bernie and the boys' sharing a good laugh. It gets a little
competitive!

The boys' keepin' an eye on the scoreboard.
Nice shoes!

We brought Cade bowling to celebrate his birthday.

It's hard to get a good picture. Tyler started off having fun
but gets easily discouraged on the gutter balls so he eventually
gave up and sat with Grandma!

Garrett had fun though! After bowling we went to Valentino's
for supper with Mom and Dad.

Monday, Nov. 23, '09 ~ Cade was so happy
when he got home from school today and his
lego set he's been wanting finally arrived!!!

He got busy right away putting it together. Didn't take him
long!

TA-DAH!!!

And tonight Cade got his birthday cake (pie)
from Grandma Grace! yum!

It was a busy and full weekend. The boys' have
a short week at school this week, getting out
tomorrow, Tuesday. We will be preparing for
Thanksgiving on Thursday. We will join Mom and
Dad at Teresa's for the noon meal and the farm in
the evening. We had snow today so Bernie will be
out of the corn field for a day or two. Tyler will be
heading to South Dakota on Friday with a friend
and his family for 3 days of hunting so he is VERY
excited!! He went last year too so he's looking forward
to going again. Bernie is hoping to get back in the field
and Garrett will help out in between basketball practice
while they're on Thanksgiving break this week. For me,
it's time to dig out the Christmas stuff! :)

Cade's Fun Day

11.20.09 ~ Cade's not quite awake yet but he's ready to
open his presents. His day started off with all of us singing
"Happy Birthday" to him and the traditional blueberry
muffins for breakfast, and yes, presents!

Cade likes his horse webkin from Aunt T, thanks Aunt T!

The new "Ice Age" dvd!

A new sweatshirt!

"Operation" from Grandma Cena and Pa Bud,
just what he was wanting! Thank you!

A new football!

I made him a john deere tie blanket.

Cade's birthday stash, minus the combine lego set that the
postal service is late in delivering!!! He was happy with all
of his new things.

Cade's day continued at school. I brought in homemade
sugar cookies that Grace and I baked for treats. Here, he
posses with Cousin Brooke, broken arm and all.

Cade's 5th grade class helps him celebrate!

Cade got this candy bouquet I made, special delivery at
school today. He said it was SOOOO tempting all day!!

After school, Cade's friend Jeff came home with us. They
played games, played football outside, played video games
and watched "Up". We had 'make your own pizza' for supper.
They had fun putting on their own toppings.

YUM! Looks good! They did a good job.

Cade requested my creme de menthe cake.

Make a wish! Cade has had a fun day and a good 11th birthday!

Cade's friend Jeff is spending the night. They will probably stay
up late. :) I can hear them downstairs laughing as I type so they are
having fun. Happy Birthday Son! We love you!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CADE

November 20th, 2009 ~ Happy 11th Birthday Cade!
Cade has been waiting and waiting for his bday to
get here! He was excited to get up this morning and
open his presents! Have a fun day Cade!

I don't know where the time goes.....our 'baby'
is 11 today!!! Seems like only yesterday!!
We love you Cade!

Harvest Time

November 14th, 2009 ~ It's Tyler's favorite time of year!
He loves driving the tractor and grain cart!

Garrett helps when he can too. Both boys' are very good help.

With rain and 3 major snowstorms in October,
it is nice to be in the field and getting the corn
out.

Cade and I stopped to bring the guys' a snack.
I ended up heading for parts, that's my job. I'm
the 'go to' girl and help get the guys' moved
from field to field and go for parts. Cade got to
ride with Tyler and Garrett. When I got back
with parts, I helped them get moved and enjoyed
riding in the combine with Bernie. I've rode with
him a couple times this harvest season, I always
enjoy the quiet time together. It's a busy time of
year for him with some long days and of course
the pressure to get the corn out since it's late
this year. It's a family affair, we all do our part
to help. And, it's fun too!
