November

Nov. 2010 ~ O wow, it is really hard to keep up
with the blog! Here are some pics from November.
You can see how busy we've been.
Corn harvest is over. The weather couldn't have been
better! We had no snow delays so were able to get the
corn out pretty timely this year. On this day, Cade
finally took a turn at the helm and learned how to drive
the tractor and grain cart. With 2 older brothers he just
hasn't had the chance but being almost 12, he is past the
age to learn...the other boys' were around 8-10 when they
learned. I'm not sure how well he really liked it but he did
a pretty good job!

Big Brother Garrett rode with him to show him
how everything works.

This is Bernie's favorite time of year and favorite thing to do...
corn harvest and running the combine!

Bernie dumping corn on Garrett and Cade's grain cart.

Tyler loves to farm too!! He is much like his Dad! He can
drive any piece of equipment and whether it's 100* or 10 below
it doesn't matter to him.

11.8.10 ~ No, Garrett wasn't in a bar fight but
he did look pretty rough when he came back from
a 2 day Math field trip to Lincoln!! Yes, I did say Math!
I swear, Garrett is an accident waiting to happen! This is
what happens when you play football at night, in the dark,
in the hotel parking lot....you gotta watch out for those brick
walls! Witnesses, a.k.a. his buddies, said there was so much
blood it looked like there had been a murder in the parking lot!
He probably really could have used a few stitches but toughed
it out as always. His face, back, finger and leg were all scraped
up too. Needless to say, he's been pretty sore and I've decided
no more Math trips for him! LOL. I'm tellin' ya, I think bullriding
looks safer and safer!

11.13.10 ~ This is Tyler this morning. He is one
happy hunter!!! He bagged a really nice 4x4 mule
buck, with one shot to the heart at 140 yds!

Brother Garrett did a nice job taking these pics in the field.
Nice buck, Tyler!!

They pulled in the yard honking and hollering like crazy!
They were SO excited to show it to me and tell me about
their morning adventure!

It was a cold, early morning but it paid off!

Tyler is sure proud, as he should be!!!
Nice job son!!
~ November has been busy with wrapping up corn
harvest and doing some odds-n-ends around the
house. Garrett and I even put up our outside Xmas
lights on the 7th!!! Usually I'm not THAT prepared
but it was a beautiful 70* outside and I just couldn't
pass up putting lights up while it was nice out! I know
I'll be glad we did when Dec. hits and it's cold outside!
Basketball practice starts the 15th with our first game
Dec. 3rd. Cade's bday is coming up on the 20th and Thanksgiving
is right behind. Work is going pretty well. I'm settled into a routine
and am determined to like working! I do love the kids I work with
at school, just don't like not having enough time to do it all and be it all!
But, things are well and I'm thankful for that, and thankful for all of
blessings!! Love to all our family and friends!
