Fruits of Labor

July '09 ~

Tyler & Cade have spent much of the summer busy preparing a garden. They prepared the area, worked it all up, and planned out where everything would go, planted the seeds and have been busy watering and weeding it. We are just now enjoying the fruits of their labor. They've done such a good job on it and have put a lot of work into it. I'm really proud of them.

Here are the first of the cherry tomatoes and cucumbers!

They also planted sweet corn, lettace and onions.

July 24, 2009 ~ A day trip to Palisade
I rode to Palisade with sisters' Jenny and Teresa and Mom to visit my nephew Jared and niece Missy and the kids and to finally meet little Miss Abby! She was born April 29th, early, so had some problems and i had been sick so was unable to see her right away so i was anxious to see her! The boys' were anxious for us to arrive too and were so glad to see us! They are just the cutest!! We enjoyed the day playing with the boys' and visiting and had a wonderful lunch. It was a fun day!

A Day Away

Friday July 17, '09 ~ With the wheat fields wet from recents rains, Bernie treated us with a spontaneous trip to Kearney for the day! We went to the Archway and enjoyed going through the tour. Even though we've been there before it was fun to see it again. They were also having a classic car show so we got to see some really neat cars too. Afterwards we hit the Mall for some school shopping and stopped for pizza on the way home. We had a fun day and it was nice to have a day away.

My neice Katie and daughter Emma on the 4th. What a doll!

Fourth of July

We celebrated the Fourth in Ogallala at my sister Teresa's house. She lives on the hill next to where the big fireworks show is so talk about front row seats!
We gathered early afternoon and had a houseful. Lots of food and family as always. My mom and dad and family friend Dorothy, my sister Becky and Todd, neice Ashton and her boyfriend, nephew Tanner, my sister Jenny and neices Britni and Katie and their baby girls' Zoe, Haley and Emma, my sister Teresa of course, and Jarv, neice Tracy and Ethan and baby Taya and nephew Wade and fiance Jillian, Eric and Callie and all of us were there. The weather was very enjoyable and we all enjoyed the visiting and sitting outside.
The fireworks show started at 9:30pm. It was amazing! It last about 20 minutes and was an awesome sight, especially up close!! There were lots of oohs and aahs and cheering and the booms were so loud! We really enjoyed it.
We had a great time spending the day with family and ending with a spectacular firework show!
p.s. As soon as I can figure out how to do it, I'll had some pictures from the day!
