Happy Anniversary

Sunday, Feb. 14th 2010 ~ Happy Anniversary dear!
Here we are 17 years later!! Today we left the boys' at home
and went to North Platte. We enjoyed some time together,
went to lunch at Whiskey Creek, went bowling then went
for ice cream! We had a lot of fun! It's pretty rare we get to
go out by ourselves so it was a real treat today.

Don't we look young??! Wow! Hard to believe 17 years have
gone by! It doesn't feel like it's been that long. It's been an
incredible journey so far. Who knew we'd have 3 amazing
sons and share so many things, good and bad. I am truly
blessed to have the life I do. I wouldn't trade any of the moments
that make up our life for anything! God has truly blessed our
lives. What a blessing to still be so in love and sharing life's journey
with your best friend. Here's to many many more!
Happy Valentine's Day too!

Parents Night

Thursday Feb. 11, 2010 ~ Last night was the last home
game for jv and varsity basketball. Tyler's done a great
job as student manager this season. He's had lots of duties.

The JV team waits for their turn on the court.

Garrett had one of his best games of the
season. The Tigers all played a great game
both offensively and on defense!

Garrett made several points for the Tigers!

Garrett plays hard and is always jumping
up way in the air or rolling on the floor!
He's not afraid to get in there! He makes
the game very exciting to watch!

Garrett had some nice lay-ups tonight.

Garrett's out resting and icing his head
for awhile. While trying to get a rebound
he and another player fell and Garrett landed
flat on his back and hit his head on the floor.
He toughed it out for awhile but needed to get
some ice. He did go back in and finished a great
game.
The Tigers pulled off another win! The score was 20-0 at
half time so Paxton dominated over Sutherland for much
of the game but they did get some points on the board but
fortunately not enough. It was a great game!
Tonight was also Parents Night which is always lots of fun.
The boys' team was introduced before the Varsity game.
Bernie and I got to walk out with both Garrett and Tyler.
They gave me a rose and Garrett even gave me a 'half' a
hug. :)
We're really proud of our boys' and love being sports parents
and cheering them on! The varsity played an awesome game
too and pulled off the win at the last few seconds. It was a
very exciting game, there was a big crowd, lots of cheering
and a great way to end the season on our home court.

Tyler's Final Jr High Game

Wed. Feb. 10, 2010 ~ This is the last junior high
basketball game of the season, and Tyler's last
junior high game ever...

Wallace traveled to Paxton this afternoon. Tyler played against
some former classmates from when he attended Wheatland Schools.

Tyler had an awesome game!

Tyler is fast and plays great defense.

Tyler had a great lay-up!
It was a close game but the Tigers couldn't quite pull it off.
Tyler, and the whole team played great tho. It's been fun
cheering all of them on during their junior high careers. We
will miss going to junior high events next year!! We'll have a
year break until Cade gets into junior high. We won't know
what to do next year! Tyler, you are a great athlete and a
great sport on and off the field. It's been a pleasure watching
and cheering for you! We love you!

Clear the streets

Feb. 9th, 2010~ Tyler's licensed! This
morning we went to Grant so Tyler could
take the test to get his Learner's Permit.
He passed on the first try! Way to go Tyler!
We're really proud of you! He'll have this license
for 3 months then will test for a school permit.
Things sure are different from when I got mine!

Garrett recently turned 16 so time for
yet another license! Now he has a Provisional
Operator's Permit! Whatever that means! What
happened to a good 'ol driver's license???!!! This
is his 3rd different license!

THEY'RE LEGAL!!! Needless to say, Tyler is very excited!
He's anxious to get some driving time to and from school too.
Boy, time flies!! Seems like it wasn't that long ago they were
playing with their little cars and now they're driving!! Scary!
I say a prayer every time they get in the vehicle!! I hope I
survive they're teenage years! ha ha

Closet Project

Jan./Feb. 2010~Well, we've always got a home
improvement project going. Our master bathroom
has been waiting it's turn for a couple years now.
While I was hoping to take the garden tub out and
replace it with a HUGE walk in tiled shower, Bernie
thought making our already walk-in closet even bigger
was a better idea....and hey, who can argue with that!
Actually, I think he was thinking drywall was cheaper
than tile! :) Anyway, with 'leftover' supplies from other
projects, we decided to tear into a new project!

Out comes the tub! No turning back now! Actually, we never
use the tub so it is wasted space for us. A bigger closet will be
much more functional.

It doesn't take long for Bernie to get the
new wall framed up and the new closet
starts to take shape.

Cade helps Bernie put up drywall. He's a
good helper!

With my teeth ordeal our project got put
on hold for a couple weeks. Bernie spent
many evenings after work getting all the
drywall up, taped, mudded and sanded.

Bernie and I spent the weekend painting
the inside of the closet and he got all the
shelving put up. Cade did a good job painting
some trim too.

What a nice space!!!! It won't take me
long to fill it up tho! :)

Our bedroom looked like this for almost a month!! Aaahh!
Sadly, this isn't even everything out of the closet!! Good
thing we made it bigger!

The closet is finally ready for everything to go back in. What
a great space! Everything has it's place.

The pictures just don't do justice to how
big the closet is now!! I teased Bernie it
would make a great scrapbook room!! :)

It is so nice to have such a handy husband!!
Any idea he can make happen! I'll give him
the credit on this one tho, the bigger closet
is awesome and much better than a big shower!
Now that the closet is done we're now working on
finishing the bathroom. I'll post before and after
pictures when we're all done.

Half-time basketball

Friday, Feb. 5th, 2010 ~ During half-time of
the boys' Varsity game, the 5th & 6th grade
boys' played basketball. They've been practicing
during p.e. so got a chance to show their skills.

Cade did good and it was fun to watch him!

Won't be long and we'll be attending Cade's
games too!

Happy Birthday to ME

February 1st, 2010 ~ It's my birthday, whoo whoo, it's my
birthday!! Yeh~38!!!! My kids think that's 'grandma age'!
Me, I love my 30's!
I've had a good day. Bernie made me breakfast then I had
lots of phone calls, texts and instant messages from sisters'
Jenny, Teresa and Becky, Mom and Dad, friends Monica
and Tonya and Grace throughout the morning. Friend Tonya
came over and spent the morning with me and brought me
one of her awesome gifts! I so enjoyed her company this
morning! Then Bernie came home and we picked up Grace
and headed to Paxton to pick up Cade then went on to Brady
to attend Tyler's junior high basketball game. We won! Tyler
had a great game and scored 6 pts! Had lots of well wishers
at the game. Afterwards we met up with Garrett after his basket
ball practice and ate supper at The Gap. Lisa stopped down with
a gift while we were there. All in all I had a pretty good day and
was just so thankful that I'm feeling a little better and was up to
getting out and 'celebrating' today. Only thing that would've made
it better would have been to see my folks' and sisters'. Unfortunately
they were attending the funeral of our dear family friend Dorothy so
could not be two places at once which is just how it happened to work
out this year. But, they told me I was a 'big girl' now and could wait for
my presents! Darn! LOL! But truthfully, I feel like it's been my birthday
for 2 weeks now with all of the beautiful flowers and cards and gifts I've
received since I was in the hospital! I just feel SO blessed by everyone's
thoughtfulness and concern and prayers! Thank you to all for making me
feel so special, that is a gift in itself! ~ Happy Birthday Self....here's to
many, many more................
