Getting Caught Up

The school year has been a whirlwind so far! It's hard to believe
it's already then end of October! The last two months have been
consumed with football, football and more football! Love! Cade
did a great job this year with his first year of jr high football and
his team ended their season 2-2! Garrett & Tyler's team have had
a great year too, just ending their regular season 6-2, and earned
the D2 District Championship, with play-offs starting this up
coming week! I've taken hundreds of football pictures this season
so below are just a handful to give you a little peek into our busy
lives. As a Senior, Garrett has had some big highlights this season!
He had an article written about him in the Huskerland Prep magazine,
did a radio and tv interview, made the cover page of the Sports preview
and was Homecoming King, just to name a few!!! We are proud of him
and enjoying his 'journey'! Tyler has had a great season too! He was
chosen as Sophomore attendant for homecoming, has led in yards and
was named Player of the Game this week for his efforts in their last game!
We have loved watching all 3 boys' play this year and cheering them on!
It has been a joy to watch Garrett and Tyler be able to play together! It
will be a sad day for us when we have no more boys' to play football!
Enjoy the pics!

Paxton Tigers District Champs! Going to the Play-offs for
the first time since Garrett was in Kindergarten!

New School Year

Well, school has finally started and we even have one football
game under our belts. Due to a delay in the new construction
on the Paxton school, school, which was due to start on the 18th
of August, didn't start until the 22nd. The first two weeks the
school had no internet so the students didn't get their computers
and some new areas were still roped off and the bell system still
does not work. The school was clearly not ready to open but the
students are used to living through construction so it's underway.
The boys' all have full schedules with hard classes and all are in
football. The first game was Friday the 2nd of Sept. and the boys'
had their fan club on hand! Bernie's brother Dave, nephew Mason,
his Mom and my folks were all on hand to cheer the boys' on.

Garrett is 3rd from left and Tyler is 6th from left.

Tyler, #29, is starting varsity.

Garrett, #12, is the Tigers quarterback!

It is so fun to watch the boys' playing football together!

Tyler running in one of his THREE touchdowns of the night!!
He also had 231 yards for the night! Garrett scored a TD too!
Both the boys' had a great night and the Tigers played a great
game!

The Tigers WON their season opener! Whoo-hooo!

Love this pic of Garrett and I!!

And love this great family pic! This is so us and so our life!

My folks' enjoyed the game and watching the boys'.

As did Bernie's mom.
It was an exciting game and a big win for the Tigers'.
So far this season, Garrett has made the front page of the sports
edition of the Keith County paper, was interview on tv for KNOP-TV
out of North Platte and did a radio interview for 106.5 (Ogallala) who
broadcasted the game. He was also mentioned in the Huskerland Prep
magazine ( a state-wide high school sports magazine) as a "triple-threat"
for Paxton, which is all very exciting! Fingers crossed he stays healthy this
season! Tyler is amazing too! A varsity starter, 3 TD's and 231 yds his first
game! Impressive! We are super proud of the boys'! Cade will join them as
he is in Jr. high football this year. Garrett is a student coach and says the
coach is already super impressed with Cade. Garrett says he has a lot of natural
talent so it seems as if we have another athlete in the family! :) We are looking forward
to watching him play this year!
I turned in my resignation with Paxton Schools the first of Aug. and am back to
enjoying being at home and having time and energy for the boys' activities! I will
still sub for the school as I do enjoy working there and love the students. Sooo many
students have given me lots of hugs every time they see me and say they really miss
me so that makes me feel good! I do miss them too!
We are enjoying the 3 day weekend and have a busy week ahead as Homecoming is
early this year! I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to follow.

Family Reunion 2011

August 5-7, '11~We spent the weekend at Lake Mac for Bernie's
annual family reunion. It was the 25th anniversary of the event.
I've been to 19 of them! Wow!

Tyler brought girlfriend Sidney. They had lots of fun playing
volleyball, swimming, going tubing and just getting to hang
out before school starts.

Cade wasted no time in going tubing! He had a lot of fun!

The lake is full this year and the weather was enjoyable.

Bernie and the boys' played lots of games of volleyball!
Tyler going for an awesome block.

The evenings were so pretty. Each night though it stormed.

Tyler-15, Garrett-17, Cade-12 ~

Another day, another game!

Bernie's brother's Dave, Ed and Cousin Fred.

Bernie decided to do a little night skiing! He's still got it!
Not bad for an old guy! ha ha!

I always love watching him ski. He has to do it every year
just to prove he still can! :)

Garrett and Bernie after skiing.
We all had a good time. Saw lots of family, ate lots of good food
and got a lot of sun! When we got home Sunday, we unloaded, hit
the showers then rested the rest of the day! But, there's no time to
re-cup! The boys' started 2-a-day football practice bright and early
this morning! The will have practice from 6am-8am then again from
6pm-8pm every day until school starts on the 18th. The boys' all got
registered for their classes today too. Each will have a heavy load this
year. Doesn't seem like school should be starting but I think they're
ready to get back and be among their friends and all of the activities.
Garrett is about to begin his Senior year.........yikes! We will have lots
of 'firsts' and 'lasts' this year.....hope I'm ready! I turned in my resignation
at Paxton Schools and am very much looking forward to being a full-time
Mom again, attending all of the boys' sporting events, etc! I will still sub
when they need me but will have more time and energy to focus on the boys'.
Summer is now over for us. It went fast but we were able to enjoy some really
fun family time, going on two mini vacations, what a blessing.
