Well, school has finally started and we even have one football
game under our belts. Due to a delay in the new construction
on the Paxton school, school, which was due to start on the 18th
of August, didn't start until the 22nd. The first two weeks the
school had no internet so the students didn't get their computers
and some new areas were still roped off and the bell system still
does not work. The school was clearly not ready to open but the
students are used to living through construction so it's underway.
The boys' all have full schedules with hard classes and all are in
football. The first game was Friday the 2nd of Sept. and the boys'
had their fan club on hand! Bernie's brother Dave, nephew Mason,
his Mom and my folks were all on hand to cheer the boys' on.
Garrett is 3rd from left and Tyler is 6th from left.
Tyler, #29, is starting varsity.
Garrett, #12, is the Tigers quarterback!
It is so fun to watch the boys' playing football together!
Tyler running in one of his THREE touchdowns of the night!!
He also had 231 yards for the night! Garrett scored a TD too!
Both the boys' had a great night and the Tigers played a great
game!
The Tigers WON their season opener! Whoo-hooo!
Love this pic of Garrett and I!!
And love this great family pic! This is so us and so our life!
My folks' enjoyed the game and watching the boys'.
As did Bernie's mom.
It was an exciting game and a big win for the Tigers'.
So far this season, Garrett has made the front page of the sports
edition of the Keith County paper, was interview on tv for KNOP-TV
out of North Platte and did a radio interview for 106.5 (Ogallala) who
broadcasted the game. He was also mentioned in the Huskerland Prep
magazine ( a state-wide high school sports magazine) as a "triple-threat"
for Paxton, which is all very exciting! Fingers crossed he stays healthy this
season! Tyler is amazing too! A varsity starter, 3 TD's and 231 yds his first
game! Impressive! We are super proud of the boys'! Cade will join them as
he is in Jr. high football this year. Garrett is a student coach and says the
coach is already super impressed with Cade. Garrett says he has a lot of natural
talent so it seems as if we have another athlete in the family! :) We are looking forward
to watching him play this year!
I turned in my resignation with Paxton Schools the first of Aug. and am back to
enjoying being at home and having time and energy for the boys' activities! I will
still sub for the school as I do enjoy working there and love the students. Sooo many
students have given me lots of hugs every time they see me and say they really miss
me so that makes me feel good! I do miss them too!
We are enjoying the 3 day weekend and have a busy week ahead as Homecoming is
early this year! I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to follow.
