Happy Easter

Sunday April 4, 2010 ~ Happy Easter to all of our family
and friends!!! We are thinking of all of you today.

"Who's Your Bunny?" ha ha :)

Our morning started with dough jenny's! Yum! Bernie and I
cut them and Cade helped fry them. We eat them with butter,
jelly or honey on them...a favorite at our family reunion, mmmm!

The boys' got sack fulls of goodies!

We drove to Ogallala to have dinner at my sister Teresa's
house. The weather is nice today.
My Niece Tracy and her daughter, Bernie
and I's God-daughter, Taya were able to
come from Omaha for the holiday weekend.
It was so good to see them!

Sister Teresa, Tracy and Taya

My sister Teresa with her daughter Tracy
and son Wade.

Me and Tracy!

The Blackman Crew!!! Luke, Jared, Nathan, Missy, Abigail,
Matthew and Jacob. What a great bunch of kids!! They are
so good you hardly know they're around! It was great to see
them too. The kids are getting so big!

The beautiful O'Keefe family! Miss Zoe, Britni, Miss Haley
and Brad came from North Platte to join us! The girls' are
such sweethearts and looked so pretty in their Easter dresses!

My sister Jenny and Carson

My sisters ~ we went outside for our traditional 'sisters'
picture. We always stand in a certain order so when I stood
in the middle instead of sister Jenny she wanted 'her spot'
back.....

so I clung to sister Teresa to maintain my position! We all
had a good laugh!!

Us girls with Dad

Us girls with Mom

The Graves Family
We had a wonderful meal of ham, pork and roast, with mashed
potatoes, gravy, creamy corn, rolls and lots of salads, relishes
and yummy desserts!!! The food was delicious!! After all of the
food we ate, we headed down to the tennis courts that are just
a couple blocks from Teresa's to burn off some calories!

Tyler, Cade, Bernie and Garrett

We played for a couple hours and had a lot of fun! The weather
was really nice out so was perfect for being outside doing something.
Not sure who really 'won' but it was sure fun to just mess around.
Afterwards we stopped for ice cream then headed home. We stopped
down at the farm to wish Bernie's mom a happy Easter then came home.
As I type this, the boys' are all outside roasting marshmallows in front of
the 'campfire' they made in the backyard!! And that was our Easter!!
We had a great day and are thankful for all of the blessings that Christ
brings into our lives. We extend our Easter wishes to all of you and
pray you had a glorious day as well.

Off and Running

4.1.10 ~ High school track has begun! Today was the 2nd
meet of the season, at Sutherland. It was in the 70's and
overall a nice day for a track meet, which is rare!

The 4x8 relay team: Garrett, Zach, Wade
and Collin.

Garrett is 'the finisher'!

They ended up with 2nd place! Garrett
really pushed it and had a good run.

Garrett's teammates tell him 'good job'.
Garrett competed in the 100 m relay
also. He was 3rd in his heat and made
it to the finals which he also placed 3rd
in with the same time of 11.7

Garrett also competed in the 300 hurdles, an event he does
not like! This is the first year he's done hurdles and he's doing
fairly well at them, they are just not the event he would like
to be in. He, and teammate/friend Jordan were neck and neck
the entire race. Garrett came in 3rd and Jordan 4th.
This past Saturday was Garrett's first meet of the season
in Hershey. It was a miserable cold and windy day! He
competed in the 100 m dash, the 4x1 relay, the 400 and
the 300 hurdles. He earned a medal with a 4th place in the
400. Competion was tough as there were lots of teams and
several heats of each event, and the wind was no help. We
have several meets ahead of us, both high school and junior
high so we're 'off and running' with a busy track season!

Prom 2010

Saturday March 20, 2010 ~ Garrett
looking very handsome, all ready to
leave to pick up his prom date. The weather
was beautiful ~ in the 40's.

We met up with Garrett at the school
for the Grand March.

Grace went with us. Grandma was glad
to have her picture taken with Garrett.

Garrett and girlfriend, Tori ~ they looked
SO nice!!! And are excited about the evening.
Garrett is a sophomore and Tori is a junior.

"Tonight's Dream, Tomorrow's Memory" was this years
Prom theme. The decorations looked really nice! Here are
just a few of the many pictures I took before the Grand March.

They were having so much fun posing for pictures!

Garrett and Tori's grand march walk-in
was really cute! He gave her a twirl and
a dip ~ everyone in the audience said 'awww'! :)
They were the first of the night to do a fun entrance.
You could tell they were really have fun!

Garrett said the dj wasn't the greatest
but they still had fun and he had a good
time at post-prom too. Hard to believe
it's all over with...means the end of another
school year is near!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERN

Sunday March 14, 2010 ~ The boys' had to hold Bernie down
and give him his birthday spanking this morning! They
enjoyed every minute of it, and it took awhile...that was a lot
of spanks!

Happy Birthday Dear! Bernie and I pose with his bowling
themed cake I made him.

We went to Ogallala this afternoon to celebrate. Garrett,
girlfriend Tori, Cade and Tyler are ready to bowl!

I finally get to use the bowling ball I got for Christmas!

Bernie with his cake! I thought I did pretty
good decorating it!

Everyone's having a fun time!

Cade's turn to bowl.

Garrett, what form!

Bernie and I bowled 4 games.

I love my new bowling ball!! I even bowled a 128 game!

Tori and my nephew Tanner take a turn. Both did good!

Nephew Tanner joins the fun!

Tanner did an awesome job and had lots
of fun too.

Neice Dani takes her turn.

Tyler had an awesome game! He bowled a 115 one game!
Way to go!

Garrett and Bernie talk stradegy!

Bernie's brothers Ed and Doug, neice Dani and Bernie's Mom
joined the party, all bowled except for Grace. She cheered us
on tho. I don't think she knew she was in this picture! She
really did have a good time!

My Mom came down to visit and watch us bowl too. We had
a super fun time! Everyone enjoyed bowling, visiting and
eating cake. Afterwards we all went to Pizza Hut for supper,
with my Dad joining us there also. Bernie had a great day.
Happy Birthday honey.......don't worry, I still think your
tractor's sexy!!! :)

Announcing

Meet Ava! We finally gave her an official name! We had tossed
names around the night we got her and Tyler came up with Ava
but Bernie, who didn't think she needed a name right away..,
couldn't come up with anything else, so for lack of any other
contenders, and it not being appropriate for the boys' to call her
what I do ( ha ha ) we decided Ava it would be!! Right now, she
doesn't really answer to anything so we'll see if Ava sticks or not.
The boys' are discovering that puppies are a lot of work and I'm
having flashbacks to when the boys' were babies and I couldn't
take a shower unless they were napping! Aaah! No wonder I'm a
cat person!
She is cute I'll give her that! Hopefully we'll all survive the 'puppy
stage'!!

More Cute Pics

Ok, is this the cutest puppy ever or what?!
What a cute face!! I'm honestly a 'cat' person
but this sweet thing is winning me over!

The boys' are loving having a puppy and she loves their attention too!

The puppy went back and forth between each of the boys'
giving them all puppy kisses and love.

The boys' can't believe we actually have
a puppy!

She slept with Garrett last night. For being
an outside pup she sure liked being snug inside!
So far she's a good puppy, no accidents and
she's never barked yet.

She's already posing for pictures! Good dog!
And how CUTE!! :)

I went to town this morning for puppy 'supplies', she loves
her new pink collar, chew toy and doggie bed!!! :)
Now she just needs a name! We're still deciding!

Its A Girl

Thursday March 4th, 2010 ~ Well...........I'm not
the only girl in the house anymore! Meet our new
puppy! Un-named at the moment...but a sweet
ball of fur nonetheless!

Bernie texted me this afternoon and said he had a "surprise"
for me! I couldn't hardly stand the anticipation! Now, don't
get me wrong, my husband does lots of nice things for me,
he's just not big on surprises! He made me wait all day and
wouldn't even give me any hints!! He finally pulled into the
yard this evening and not being able to wait any longer, I
went outside! He motioned me over to the pick-up, had me
open the door and this is what I found inside!!

A big surprise for sure!!!!! She is sooo sweet! And so soft!
She's still getting used to us and for those of you who know
us well and visit often, we have literally like 20 farmcats so
the puppy is in for a culture shock! And so are the cats!
A not-so-funny story though....we'd had her like 20 minutes
when Bernie took her outside to go to the bathroom and she
took off!!! We spent the next hour and a half, walking around
outside, in the DARK and cold looking for her!!! Not a great way
to start off having a new puppy! But, we finally found her down
at the farm hiding in the shed under Bernie's mustang so she's
back home safe and sound and sleeping in her box.
Guess I'll be headed to town for puppy food tomorrow, she
doesn't seem to care for cat food! ha ha!
I have NEVER had a puppy before in my life so not sure how
this is going to go, but hey, can't be any worse than raising 3
boys' right?! :)
Anyway, Bernie was very proud of himself and I can honestly
say I was surprised! I'm sure we'll have lots of pictures to share
of her but we just wanted to introduce our newest member of
our family. I'll let you know her name when we decide to.
Wish us luck!!
